Say No to a Mayoral Dictatorship in Richmond

Mayor Dwight Jones is attempting to change the city charter whereby the Richmond City Council would no longer be elected but simply appointed by an elected mayor. What's next? An un-elected mayor? And who will these un-elected council appointees be working on behalf of? The actual citizens of Richmond? Or the usual plutocratic interests? Who can we suppose put the mayor up to this? It shouldn't be hard to guess. If this proposed system is put into place, it would be unprecedented anywhere in America in the sense that the city would essentially be a mayoral dictatorship.
